Dear Winston Churchill Parents,

In light of the tragedy that occurred in Humboldt, Saskatchewan last Thursday, we would like to demonstrate our support to the victims and families of this unimaginable crash. On Thursday, along with other schools across the country, we are encouraging all of our staff and students to wear a sports jersey, Winston Churchill T-shirt or Winston Churchill colours (blue and green).

We are not collecting any money. Please speak to your children over the next two days so that they understand that wearing a jersey on this day is completely different than what is typically a fun spirit day. The purpose of this day is for silent reflection and honouring the victims and their families.

As our HERO topic this month is resilience, classes will be discussing the importance of not giving up, being part of a team and providing support in difficult times.

We will end the day around the flagpole, observing a moment of silent reflection.
